Your manuscripts, characters, world-building, and every word you write belong entirely to you. Conscriva claims no rights to your creative work — ever.
By creating a Conscriva account or using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you're using Conscriva on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
If you don't agree to these Terms, don't use the service. We're building Conscriva to genuinely help writers — these terms exist to protect you and define how we operate together.
This is the most important section. Read it first.
You retain 100% ownership of all content you create with Conscriva: your manuscripts, chapters, characters, world-building details, story arcs, themes, timelines, dialogue, outlines — everything. We do not claim any rights, licenses, or interests in your creative work beyond what's technically necessary to operate the service for you.
To provide the service, you grant Conscriva a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of delivering the service to you. This license ends when you delete your account or the content. We use it to do things like save your work, display it to you, and run AI consistency checks on it — nothing else.
Conscriva does not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell, share, or license your creative work to third parties. Your unpublished manuscripts are not data we monetize — they're private.
By uploading content, you represent that you have the right to do so and that your content doesn't infringe on anyone else's intellectual property rights or violate any applicable laws.
Conscriva's AI features are designed to assist your writing, not replace it. The AI analyzes your work to find consistency issues, suggest what to develop next, and surface contradictions — based entirely on content you have written.
Our AI never generates story content, prose, or creative material on your behalf without your explicit action. Suggestions are prompts for your consideration, not automatically added to your work. You review and accept or reject everything.
When you use AI features (Consistency Checker, "What's Next?" Advisor), your project data is processed through our AI pipeline to generate the response. This processing happens in transit and is not stored externally or used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how AI processing works.
AI tools can make mistakes. Conscriva's consistency checker and advisor are meant to help you catch issues — not to be the final word. You're the author. Your judgment governs.
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You're responsible for maintaining the security of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@conscriva.com.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Conscriva. If you're between 13 and 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You may not share account credentials.
Conscriva is a creative writing tool. You may use it for any legal creative writing purpose — fiction, fantasy, horror, thriller, romance, literary fiction, and everything in between. Dark themes in fiction are a legitimate part of storytelling.
You may not use Conscriva to:
We're not here to police fiction. We trust writers to use good judgment.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, we will delete your content from our systems within 30 days, except where we're required by law to retain certain records.
Before deleting your account, you can export your projects and writing content. Your work is yours — you should be able to take it with you. Export functionality is available in the application settings.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these Terms. In cases of termination for cause, we'll give you reasonable notice (except where prohibited by law or where immediate action is necessary to protect other users). We'll retain your content for 14 days following termination so you can export it before it's deleted, unless the violation involves content we're required to remove immediately.
If your account has been inactive for 24 consecutive months and has no active subscription, we may delete it after providing at least 60 days email notice to the address on file.
Conscriva is free to start. Free accounts have access to core project features.
Some features (including AI features) may require a paid subscription. We'll communicate pricing clearly before you're charged. You can cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects access. We'll provide advance notice for planned downtime where possible.
We may change, add, or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces functionality you rely on, we'll give at least 30 days' notice.
Conscriva is provided "as is." We do our best to make a reliable, high-quality tool for writers, but we can't guarantee it will always be error-free, available, or meet every requirement.
AI features are assistive tools, not professional advice. AI-generated consistency notes are suggestions, not authoritative assessments.
We're not responsible for the creative choices you make, the content you write, or how your work is received after publication.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Conscriva and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Conscriva in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations — in those cases, liability is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.
We'll update these Terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by email (to the address on your account) at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
For minor changes (like fixing typos or clarifying language), we may update without prior notice.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the current version was published.
